Easily generate richly-formatted Adobe PDF files, even on systems that do not have Acrobat installed. Syncfusion Essential PDF exposes an intuitive API to let you create rich PDF content documents, including international languages support. The extensive feature set includes several text formatting options, drawing shapes and images, including multiple layers within a page, inserting tables with custom formatting, bookmarks, support for headers and footer and page layout during printing, encryption, etc. There is also support for creating Acroforms. You can also convert HTML web pages to PDF. Syncfusion Essential PDF does not use COM interop and is available with full 100% C# source code. Included with every license is a one-year subscription for unlimited technical support and updates.

What's new in Essential PDF 2008 Vol. 4?

• PDF/A-1b - Added support for creating PDF/A-1b documents based on the ISO 19005-1:2005 standard. This standard defines a format for the long-term archiving of electronic documents, ensuring that documents will be reliably reproduced in the future.  This is suitable for governmental organizations and other places where archiving is of paramount importance.
• Bar code - Added support for rendering bar codes inside PDF documents; this feature also provides support for exporting rendered bar codes as images in various formats.
• Content Extraction - Added support for extracting text and images in a PDF document. This feature also supports extracting text and images from a specified range of pages.
• Improved HTML to PDF conversion - The HTML to PDF converter’s speed has been enhanced, and it now has the ability to enable or disable client scripts in a rendered Web page. It also supports automatic detection of page breaks in rendered Web pages.
• Other features - Several other features have been added, such as the ability to render HTML-styled text, line annotations, and text Web links.
• Improved documentation and samples - Enhanced documentation and samples provide greater details about new and existing features.

What's new in Essential PDF 2008 Vol. 3?

• PDF Booklet - Added support for booklets in PDF.  Booklets are documents with multiple pages arranged on sheets of paper that, when folded, present the correct page order.
• Improved HTML to PDF conversion - HTML to PDF conversion using MSHTML and Essential PDF has been greatly improved.  User credentials are now supported for working with Active Directory authentication.
• 3-D Annotations - 3-D annotations are the means by which 3-D artwork is represented in a PDF document.  You can now embed collections of 3-D objects such as those used in CAD software.
• Digital Signature - Creating and signing PDF documents with digital signatures is now supported.  Incremental signatures and multiple signatures are also supported.

• Content Formatting - Included are a number of text formatting options, such as TrueType and CJK Font support, RTL support, multi-lingual support, newspaper-style column breaks, RTF Import, etc.
• Drawing Support - Draw custom shapes and embed images using an API similar to the .NET Graphics types. Specifying multiple layers within the same page is also supported.  Support for vector images lets you insert images that scale well at any magnification level.
• Tables - Easily add tables to the document with rich formatting options. There is also a built-in facility to convert ADO.Net DataTable content into PDF tables. You can embed graphics objects such as images into the table cells.
• Acroforms - Acroforms let you easily gather information from your end users. You can easily create such documents containing textboxes, radio buttons, listboxes, etc. using Essential PDF.
• Document Elements - Using Essential PDF, you can add different kinds of annotations to elements in the document, add attachments, specify bookmarks, and also define Actions such as Launch, Submit, Java Script triggers, and more.
• Page Elements - Support is provided for inserting Headers and Footers with dynamic fields such as page number, page count, etc.  You can also specify page labels for each page, and page orientation and the page size can be specified to customize the layout.
• HTML to PDF - Our HtmlConverter lets you easily perform this popular conversion with just a few lines of code. It uses the MSHTML rendering library to render the HTML content as a metafile, which can then be embedded into PDF documents. The rendered text will be searchable, with rendering identical to IE.
• Performance - Created with optimal performance characteristics, the Essential PDF library can generate documents with 1000 pages in less than 0.5 seconds.
• Working with Streams: Includes support for opening and saving a document into/from a stream.
